On 27th November, at the premises of the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Romania, together with the University, organized the opening ceremony of the Days of Turkmenistan.

The ceremony was attended by the head sand representatives of foreign diplomatic missions (South Korea, Iran, Peru, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, Georgia, Moldova, Slovak Republic, Iraq, USA, Russia, Indonesia, Cyprus, Tunisia, Morocco, Palestine, Kuwait, Algeria etc.) accredite in Bucharest, former Romanian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ion Porojan, Chairman of the Romania-Turkmenistan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group in the Romanian Parliament, Istvan-JanosAntal, representatives of Romanian ministries and institutions, including the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania, the Romanian universities, representative softhemedia, scientific and cultural figures, Turkmen students studying in universities of Bucharest.

Speakers of the opening ceremony, the Rector of the Polytechnic University of Bucharest Mihnea Costoiu and the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Romania, Annamammet Annayev, spoke about the fruitful and expanding relations between Turkmenistan and Romania in the cultural, humanitarian, scientificand educational sphere. It was noted with satisfaction the signingof the Memorandum of Understanding between the Oguz Khan Engineeringand Technology University and the Polytechnic University of Bucharest at the International Conference and Exhibition “Education and Sports in the Age of Power and Happiness”, Ashgabat, November 14-15, 2019.

The parties emphasized that this event will also make it sworthy contribution to streng thening cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.

In the hallin which the exhibition was located, objects of the national cultural heritage of Turkmenistan were widely represented. Visitors could see colorful photographs about Turkmenistan, Turkmenhand-made carpets, paintings, national costumes, handicraft sand embroideries of Turkmen crafts women, national musical instruments and hand made national jewelry. The guests also had the opportunity to get acquainted with the scientific works of the President of Turkmenistanan dother publishing informational materials about Turkmenistan. The exhibition part was accompanied by national music performed by Turkmen students.

Another important element of the celebration was the culinary part, in the frame work of which a tasting of national and local cuisine was organized. Other foreign students from Angola, Spain, France, Nigeria and Morocco, who also organized a tasting of the international cuisine, joined the culinary part of the event.
